The H07V-U and H07V-R series of copper stranded conductor wires are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulated power cables designed specifically for heating equipment and general electrical systems. Available in cross-sectional areas of 0.5mm², 1mm², 1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4mm², 6mm², and 10mm², they are widely used in power supply and line connection for heating devices in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Both cable types comply with European standards and, with their excellent temperature resistance, flexibility, and electrical performance, serve as reliable power transmission solutions in heating systems.
In terms of specifications, the core difference between H07V-U and H07V-R lies in the insulation layer properties: H07V-U uses standard PVC insulation, while H07V-R features an oil-resistant insulation layer, making it suitable for environments where contact with grease is possible. Both have a rated voltage of 450/750V, meeting the requirements of low-voltage distribution systems, and can operate continuously at 70°C with short-term overload capacity up to 105°C, fully adapting to temperature fluctuations during the startup and operation of heating equipment.
For the conductors, the entire series adopts a multi-strand copper wire stranded structure (Class 5 flexible conductors in accordance with IEC 60228 standards). Different cross-sectional areas correspond to different numbers of strands and single wire diameters: for example, 0.5mm² consists of 16 strands of 0.2mm copper wire, while 10mm² is formed by 49 strands of 0.5mm copper wire twisted together. The use of high-purity electrolytic copper (purity ≥99.95%) ensures excellent conductivity, with DC resistance at 20°C controlled within strict limits (e.g., 2.5mm² ≤8.21Ω/km), effectively reducing energy loss and ensuring efficient operation of heating equipment.
The insulation layer is made of flame-retardant PVC, blended with heat stabilizers and antioxidants. It not only has good electrical insulation performance (dielectric strength ≥15kV/mm) but also resists mechanical wear, mild chemical corrosion, and UV aging. The oil-resistant insulation of H07V-R is particularly suitable for kitchen ovens, industrial frying equipment, and other scenarios where oil contact is possible, while H07V-U is applicable to ordinary dry or humid environments, such as internal wiring of electric heaters and water heaters.
In terms of specific applications, the multi-specification design of this series allows precise matching with heating equipment of different powers: 0.5-1mm² is suitable for heating elements in small household appliances, such as internal wiring of coffee machines and hair dryers; 1.5-2.5mm² can connect household heating devices like electric irons and electric blankets; 4-6mm² is used in heating systems and water heaters in commercial places; 10mm² is adapted to the main power supply lines of industrial heating furnaces and drying equipment. Additionally, their flexible stranded structure facilitates laying in complex spaces inside equipment, reducing installation difficulty.
In the production process, both cable types undergo strict manufacturing procedures: copper wires are cold-drawn and annealed, then formed into conductors through precision stranding machines to ensure tight contact between strands, reducing the skin effect; the PVC insulation layer is formed by extrusion, uniformly coating the conductor surface at a high temperature of 160-190°C to form a bubble-free and pinhole-free insulation layer. The oil-resistant insulation layer of H07V-R also undergoes additional oil resistance tests (e.g., after immersion in IRM 903 oil at 70°C for 168 hours, the tensile strength retention rate of the insulation layer is ≥80%).
In terms of safety certification, the entire series of cables has passed CE certification and complies with EN 50525 standards. Their flame retardancy meets IEC 60332-1-2 level, which can self-extinguish without dripping in vertical burning tests, reducing fire risks. The color identification of the insulation layer (usually black, gray, or white) facilitates the distinction between phase lines and neutral lines, complying with electrical installation regulations.
During installation and maintenance, it is necessary to select cables with appropriate cross-sectional areas according to the power of the heating equipment to avoid overload. For example, a 2.5mm² cable has a continuous current-carrying capacity of 24A and can be adapted to equipment below 5.5kW; a 10mm² cable has a current-carrying capacity of 57A, meeting the needs of 12kW equipment. Copper terminals should be used for connection to ensure good contact and prevent overheating of joints. In daily use, avoid the cable being scratched by sharp objects or long-term contact with high-temperature surfaces (exceeding 105°C), and regularly check whether the insulation layer is aged or cracked.
To sum up, the H07V-U and H07V-R series of copper stranded conductor wires, with their multi-specification options, temperature and oil resistance, reliable electrical performance, and wide applicability, have become ideal choices for power supply of heating equipment, providing stable and safe power transmission guarantees for heating systems in residential, commercial, and industrial fields.
